The Needle Company Ltd was born in 1998 when it changed its name from the Hosiery Machine Needle Co Ltd to reflect more accurately the day-to-day business of the company.

The original roots go back to 1915 when this company was set up to manufacture needles for knitting machines, which produced the much-needed fabrics for clothing during the First World War.

Shortly afterwards the company produced the first latch rug hooks which were to be the mainstay of the business for decades to follow. Since the early 90's the company has expanded its range of needlecraft products to encompass most areas of handicrafts...and beyond.

Idyllically located in the south Leicestershire countryside, the company supplies needles and sewing/knitting accessories the world over.

Emphasis is given to expediting orders quickly; consequently, comprehensive stocks of the most popular products are kept ready in stock for a quick order turnaround.

The same emphasis is applied to bespoke orders, which are regularly undertaken by the company, be it specialist needles for the handicraft industry or for aerospace and medical end-uses etc. Close attention is paid to each customer's particular requirements.
